Two Year Operating & Capital Budget

The City of Atascadero operates on a two-year budget. The budget is based on a cooperative effort between the Council,  Community and staff, and is focused on the priorities established by the Council with significant public engagement. The budget process begins every other January, and goes through a series of public Finance Committee meetings before being presented for adoption by the City Council in June. The budget includes a budget message with an overview of the financial plan, any major operating program changes, and policy issues requiring Council determination. The budget also includes summarized and detailed revenue and expenditure information by operating fund.
